Well, we just setup the latest Meru Access Point, the Meru AP320i:
This device features dual 802.11a/b/g/n radios (802.11n can be in both 2.4GHz & 5GHz), and it is POE 802.3af compliant. So just connect it into your existing Meru infrastructure, and it inter-operates seamlessly.
As you have probably guessed, the “i” stands for internal antennas. While you may think no external antennas would be bad for signal reception, it actually has not decreased at all, and our first field tests in a productive environment confirm this behavior. According to Meru the device offers a full 180 degree coverage, and of course it just fits better into environments where the looks matter.
As I said before, we just installed it into our productive office environment, and it integrated nicely into our existing infrastructure with MC1000 Meru Controller and AP311 Access Points.
More to follow as we have already scheduled the deployment of AP320i’s at customer sites…
